Designed to enhance efficiency, this solution reduces errors with built-in validation checks, supports seamless bank integration, and ensures secure transaction handling. Reliable reconciliations

Enhance your reconciliation process and achieve up to a 95% match rate—whether you're using the Payment Reconciliation Journal or Bank Account Reconciliation. Effortlessly find matches using all available data and advanced search rules, while built-in logic processes the results for maximum accuracy and efficiency.

Flexible payment exports

Or, select the advanced flow for improved processing and detailed oversight of each recipient, allowing flexible management of every payment line.

Payment security

Protect your payments against fraud with secure approval flows, ensuring every payment line is approved by the right people before bank export. Quickly get informed of changes in bank account information and verify the details, safeguarding your company from malicious actors and avoidable errors.

Payment service providers

Effortlessly import and process your customer payments from Klarna, PayPal, and other third-party payment providers in the Cash Receipt Journal. Payments are automatically matched, and you’ll have full visibility into PSP fees, so there are no surprises. With every transaction type posted accurately, you can get a clear and reliable overview of your third-party payments —without the extra work.

Validation & error handling

Ensure seamless payment exports with frequent validation checks that prevent errors from occurring in the bank. Data is automatically validated at every level, providing you with detailed error descriptions to guide you to the source. This ensures quick corrections and high data accuracy for every transaction.

Enhanced file import

Seamlessly import CSV files into the Payment Reconciliation Journal or Bank Account Reconciliation from any bank or payment service provider. These enhanced import capabilities simplify the import process with predefined templates and options to create custom data structures, making it easy to map and import your CSV files.

all about it here!

Prevent fraud before it happens

Continia Banking puts your business's financial security first by ensuring any changes in bank account information are flagged before payments are processed. If details, such as bank account number, IBAN, or SWIFT code change, the system automatically requires you to re-verify before continuing.

If changes aren’t verified, you’ll receive a warning with the option to block all payments until verification is completed. Verification can be done via email, phone, or other methods, and you can log additional information with comments to keep a clear record. This way, your transactions stay secure and accurate.

Feature overview

  • Essential Generate and export payments, import bank statements for easy reconciliation, and automate direct debits.
    Standard payment flow
Quickly process your outgoing payments in the Payment Journal, either by line or by summarizing multiple lines, reducing bank fees and providing clear payment records for vendors, customers, or employees.
    Advanced payment flow
Get precise control over payments for each vendor, customer, or employee and manage each payment line with precision. Handle partial payments, discounts, and payment methods or currencies with a clear, organized overview.
    Payment suggestion templates
Define a series of settings to determine how payments are executed in each individual payment journal.
    Pay from the same journal
Execute all payments from a single Payment Journal—across all bank accounts, currencies, and to vendors, customers, and employees—exported with one click.
    Transaction ID-based reconciliation
All payment lines are marked with a unique transaction ID that tracks the payment through the system. This ID ensures automatic reconciliation when the payment is received on the electronic account statement from the bank.
    Payment reference autofill
When you receive a purchase invoice with a payment slip, it includes a unique Payment Reference (OCR line) that is typically entered on the invoice. If you've set up a template for the vendor to calculate this reference, the field is automatically filled in on the payment. With Continia Document Capture, the Payment Reference is transferred automatically.
    Advanced payment validation
The comprehensive validation engine and error log ensure high-quality assurance, allowing you to safely send payments to the bank with minimal risk of failure.
    Summarize payments per vendor
Summarize multiple payments to the same vendor, customer, or employee to reduce bank fees. Remittance advice is generated to document the summarized invoices and credit notes covered by the payment.
    Payment journal overview
View and filter the status of each payment (displayed in both text and color) once a payment suggestion is created.
    Banking factbox
Track the status of individual payments after they are created in the payment journal by viewing the payment status log.
    Import bank account statements
Import bank account statements into a standard journal for reconciliation. Continia Banking automatically maps the bank statement data to the correct fields, eliminating the need for manual data entry.
    Autosend remittance advice
Send remittance advice from payment journals to vendors, customers, or employees manually, upon posting, or through a job queue.
    Rule-based reconciliation
Set up reconciliation search rules for bank accounts, vendors, customers, and employees to improve matching.
    Payment pre-validation
Validate payment information against bank requirements before document approval with Document Capture.
    Autofill bank details from IBAN
Continia Banking automatically generates the necessary bank information, saving you time and ensuring the IBAN number is valid and bank account details are correctly filled in. This is especially helpful when setting up foreign bank accounts where information may be hard to obtain.
    CSV Ports
Setup CSV ports to import previously unsupported file formats. Files can be imported into the Payment Reconciliation Journal and Bank Account Reconciliation.
    Enhanced Payment Reconciliation Journal
The Payment Reconciliation Journal is enhanced with features to optimize payment application, match rates, journal line creation, and overall reconciliation.
    Direct debit processing
Process direct debits from a customer using a direct debit mandate ID.
Adhere to Customer / Vendor links
Works with the Continia Finance - Associations module to close payables and settle the remaining receivables.

    Payment service provider (PSP) support

Seamlessly import and process customer electronic payments into the Cash Receipt Journal from third-party providers like Klarna and PayPal.

Transparent PSP fee and commission handling

Ensure accurate and efficient handling of transaction types with full visibility into charges from your Payment Service Provider.

    PSP templates

Stay compliant with your local financial regulations by automatically allocating payments into distinct categories, such as taxes, social security contributions, and service fees, based on predefined rules.

    Redirect payments to alternative payee

Ensure payments go to the right recipient by specifying an alternative payee, such as a factoring company. The system automatically includes these details in the payment suggestion and exported payment entries for smooth processing.

    Automatic payment splitting

Save time by splitting incoming payment lines across multiple entries based on predefined rules for automatic G/L allocation, custom posting groups, and applied dimensions.

    Regulatory reporting

Ensure compliance with local regulations by organizing and reporting regulatory information directly within ledger entries.

Approve, reject, or delegate your pending approvals to others as needed.
    Approval flows
Set up approvals based on pre-defined approval flows. Send to specific people or send to a list of approvers. Define the order based on approval amount limits.
    Amount threshold-based approvals
Set a maximum amount threshold for payments. Payments exceeding this amount require approval, while those under it can be sent to the bank without approval.
    Field restriction
Choose to protect all fields during the approval process or only sensitive fields, such as Name, Address, IBAN, SWIFT, Currency Code, Branch No., and Account No., while allowing non-sensitive fields, like dimensions, to be altered after entering the approval flow.
